Creating a workspace

The form

Where your provider offers it, Create a workspace (on the login page and in the menu) starts a workspace of your own, with you as its administrator. The form has three steps; Back and the step titles at the top return to a step without losing what you typed.

  1. Your workspace asks for:
    • the Workspace name, usually your organization's;
    • the Workspace code, which your team types to join. It takes letters, digits and hyphens, 3 to 20 characters, and must be free. The code is shown in lower case, as an address shows it, and letter case does not matter when you type it. Suggest a code fills in a free five-letter code made from the workspace name: three letters of the first word and two of the second (Marcelo Calderon gives marca). When that one is taken it tries other letters of the same words, then adds a number. Where your provider gives each workspace an address of its own, the code is the first part of that address, and the form shows it under the code from the start: This is how the access to your workspace will be: followed by the address, with your-code in the code's place until you type one the form accepts. The code, and with it the address, cannot be changed later.
  2. You, its administrator is your own account.
  3. Review and create is the last chance to go back and correct something. Creating the workspace accepts the terms of service, which Read the terms of service opens.

The workspace takes the time zone your browser reports and starts with no currency; both are set in the workspace's regional settings. Its name is also the name shown in the top bar and in the workspace's emails; an administrator changes or hides it under Branding.

After creating it

After Create workspace you receive an email with a confirmation link, and the page shows your workspace code, Your workspace's address is with the address where there is one, and the day the trial ends. If you came through a link that chose an example project, the page and the email name it: when you sign in, that example is ready to add with one click. Confirm the email, then sign in; Go to sign in opens your workspace's address. The workspace starts invitation-only: nobody else can register to it until you invite them or open registration.

A workspace whose email nobody confirms, and that nobody signs in to, is deleted seven days after it was created. Its code stays taken: to start again, choose another one.

Not the same as joining

Creating a workspace makes you its administrator and starts a trial. If your organization already uses a workspace, do not create another one: join it with the code your administrator gives you, or accept their invitation.
