Gantt chart

Gantt chart (side menu) draws the timeline of one project's phases and tasks. It is shown when the feature is enabled in the configuration and you hold the view the Gantt chart permission; it does not exist in Basic mode.

Reading the chart

  • Pick a project (it opens on your active one). Rows list the project, a collapsible section per phase (tasks directly under the project go under No phase), then tasks and subtasks, in task-number order.
  • A bar spans start date to due date. A due date alone is a milestone diamond (Due date only); a start date alone is an open-ended dashed bar. A project's or a phase's bar stretches over the items it contains. Subtasks have no dates of their own and are hatched on their task's span (Dates from the parent task). Items with no dates read No dates.
  • Colors follow the status. Cannot start yet marks an item locked until its start date and Waiting on another item a dependency; the tooltip names the date or the blocking item.
  • Archived items and scheduled occurrences of repeating tasks are not drawn.

Working with it

The chart is read-only: nothing can be dragged or resized. Every bar and label is a link that opens the item's editor, which is where dates change. The chart refreshes when someone else updates an item on it.
